not the CIA, but a new boutique airline, La Compagnie, offering a unique
affordable value all business
class regularly scheduled route from New York/Newark International (EWR)
to Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG). The La Compagnie “The Company” airline
was launched in July of 2014 as an entrepreneurial venture by Frantz
Yvelin and Peter Luethi,
targeted for travelers who not only travel business class, but also know
what it means to be in business. The airline’s mission is to “democratize” business
class across the Atlantic with tech savvy and innovative initiatives,
while offering very competitive fares. The airline is now bookable by
Travel agents using the IATA Code B0.
The La Compagnie flies the Boeing 757-200 in a signature silvery baby
blue livery. The airline offers six flights weekly, every day except
Tuesday,
with scheduled departures from Paris at 5:50PM arriving in Newark at
8:30PM, and from Newark at 9:45PM arriving in Paris at 11:15AM the next
morning. The B 757-200 is ideal for La Compagnie’s trans-Atlantic
route, with 74 “lie-flat” seats creating a 2x2 configuration
throughout a single aisle cabin with no class divides. How’s that
of Egalite and Fraternity? Overhead luggage bins are comfortably sized.
The seating offers leather headrests and armrests. The interior style
is baby blue with muted trim tones and from wood grain wallboards.
Passengers will find in-flight amenity kits including Caudalie cosmetic
products, as well as meal service created by Christophe
Langree, the Michelin-starred chef of Hôtel Matignon in Paris,
(the official residence of the Prime Minister of France). La Compagnie’s
fleet is also equipped with complimentary Samsung tablets uploaded with
an assortment of books, newspapers, magazines, music, movies and inflight
menus.
Special Airfares
La Compagnie’s regular airfare will be offered in three levels:
Full Flex – Range from
$4,144 to $7,098, with no
charges for change of reservation or cancellation.
Semi-Flex – From $2,630 to $3,704,
with some charges for changes and cancellations.
Best-Buy – From $1,856 to $2,298 with
higher charges in the case of changes or cancellations.
