Situated on the Embarcadero Waterfront, across from the iconic white towered old Ferry Building Marketplace, where the ferries across the bay depart to Sausalito, Tiburon and Alameda, the Hyatt Regency San Francisco is the only large luxury hotel property on San Francisco’s Embarcadero and the city’s most accessible hotel. Driving across the Bay Bridge or up 101, follow the signs to the Embarcadero and the high rise of the Hyatt is unmistakable. This was one of the original Hyatt Regency Atrium design hotels. The room walkways rise almost dizzyingly above the atrium lobby in a reverse over-hang with glass pod elevators, which were copied for the movie 70's disaster movie "Towering Inferno". In years past the old Embarcadero freeway blocked the view, but the Loma Prieta earthquake took care of that and the whole area is a bustle of shops and entertainment.

The Hyatt Regency Hotel at San Francisco is right at the start of the California Street Cable Car line and easy reach to the Embarcadero Center's shops and theme restaurants, near the Financial District, Downtown, Chinatown, North Beach, Union Square, South of Market, and the home of the San Francisco Giants - AT&T Park is just beyond the spans of the impressive bay bridge.
