CHATEAU DE LA RAPÉE HOTEL & RESTAURANT The chateau was built in 1825 on a huge estate of three thousand acre. The architecture is characteristic of the Anglo-Norman style and the name is a reminder that its owners were important coal merchants on the Quai de la Râpée in Paris where they also owned a private mansion. The estate has been divided up over multiple owners. Josette and Robert Bergeron acquired Château de la Râpée in 1973 and opened the restaurant. They had been restaurateurs at the renowned La Boule Rouge in Paris and fell in love with the magnificent setting in the Normandy Vexin for their own establishment and offer a warm personal connection, joined by their sons Pascal and Philippe who take on the more active management.
