THE HOTEL AMBASSADOR – VIENNA
The Hotel Ambassador has undergone several renovations over the years, but it has managed to maintain its old-world charm and elegance. The hotel features a total of 97 rooms and suites, all of which are decorated in a traditional Viennese style. Many of the rooms feature high ceilings, chandeliers, and ornate moldings. The hotel also boasts several on-site amenities, including a restaurant that serves traditional Viennese cuisine, a bar, and a fitness center. The winter garden overlooks the historic Neuer Markt square. The Atriumbar serves cocktails, coffee and snacks. In summer, guests can relax in the open-air café on Kärntner Straße.
One of the hotel's most famous guests was the American author Mark Twain who visited Vienna in the late 19th century while on one of his speaking tours. In his book "Innocents Abroad," Twain wrote about his experiences at the hotel, praising the staff and the accommodations. He even went as far as to say that the Hotel Ambassador was "the best hotel in Europe."
