Luxury Spa and Michelin Star Cuisine in the Black Forest
The
historic town of Baiersbronn in the heart of Germany’s
Black Forest has become one of the hottest spots for gourmet cuisine.
The popular and still quaint and rustic natural resort
of hiking and biking trails in the midst of rolling thick wooded hills
now claims seven Michelin stars, spread
out among
three chefs. Baiersbronn has been the home base of two of Germany’s
recognized best chefs, Harald Wohlfahrt at the 5-Star Hotel Traube Tonbach,
and Claus-Peter Lumpp's Restaurant Bareiss, with three Michelin stars
each, but the most recent celestial
addition
to
the exclusive
club is Jörg Sackmann, with his signature Schlossberg Restaurant
at his family’s traditional 4-star Superior class luxury Hotel

The Hotel Sackmann
has been a feature of the former mountain glass manufacturing and farm town
for several generations, with the original roadside chalet building
growing over the years. The chef who grew up in family of hoteliers trained
under the local master Harald Wohlfahrt before spreading his wings in
Berlin, Munich and Baden-Baden before returning home to introduce his
personal recipe of creativity and perfectionism to Baiersbronn. His inventive
cuisine was dubbed Menu of the Year in 2002 by Gault Millau and he was
named among the top 20 chefs in Germany in 2004. In 2011, the local chef
began appearing as the regular guest television chef for the ARD Buffet
morning cooking show from Baden-Baden.
The Romantik Hotel Sackmann makes for the perfect romantic discovery
of the Black Forest region for connoisseurs of great food and natural
outdoors. A relaxed and casual atmosphere in the crisp fresh air of the
Murg River Valley. The rooms from deluxe to Junior Suite, in the original
house and a newer hotel wing designed with a bit of Black Forest whimsy,

romantic candlelit Black Forest twilight meal. When the sun goes down,
have a fresh draft of German beer or an exotic cocktail in the rustic

offers a couples cooking course, with demonstration of basic techniques
and Michelin star professional tips, ending with sampling of several
